We had such a good time this past weekend celebrating Lindsey in Napa! She is a lucky girl – Lauren did some seriously fantastic planning and the weekend went off beautifully.
We got in on Thursday night, situated ourselves, and then went to sleep. Since we were in the Pacific time zone, most of us woke up around 6am and chatted for over three hours at breakfast. While we were chatting, our rooms were decorated with the cutest stuff. Lauren & co. had brought decor (necklaces, glow stick bracelets, stickers, etc), and even put together a perfect box for all of us with necessities like Goldfish, Advil, gum, and a camera. It was so adorable.
We got ready and headed to our first activity – wine tours via bicycles!
We were envisioning cute city bikes with bells and tassles, and an easy 4-5 mile distance. Nope – it was a 16 mile ride and things were intense. However it was really fun!
We recovered, took showers, and had dinner that night at Don Giovanni’s.
It was an unusual dinner for a few reasons, but we noticed that Napa shuts down around 9:30-10pm. We were the last ones in the restaurant!
The next day was the main event – a tour of four vineyards via party bus. Let me tell you, we were very much in love with this bus.
We brought our wine sippy cups…
…fun stickers and decor…
…and our dancing skills…
…and we were ready to party!
We visited four vineyards. The first was a castle. For real. One that cost $35 million to build.
The second was a cute house that had quite the Austin vibe.
The third was a gorgeous place with beautiful mustard flower fields.
It was so relaxing we had to soak it all in.
Finally, we went to Chandon to have delicious sparkling wine. I don’t have any pictures from there but it’s probably a good thing considering we were a little tipsy!
We ate dinner and were in bed by 10:30pm. It was perfect, relaxing, super fun, and amazing. I’m so glad to be back home with the family though – Louise and Mike went to New Orleans over the weekend so we all are happy to be back. I cuddled extra long before bed tonight with Louise to make up for lost time.
