Mike graduated!

Ice storm schmice schtorm! UTD rescheduled their commencement ceremony for this weekend which ended up working out, since the ceremony was much shorter (aka better), and Mike’s parents could still come in town (it was actually better since it was on Sunday instead of during the week). We couldn’t go to a celebratory dinner or have the planned party because Louise is still recovering, but it was nice to have the official “you are now DONE” ceremony.

Plus Mike’s regalia was pretty freaking sweet.

Mike ended up sitting in the front row and was the first of the doctoral students to walk across the stage. I only cried twice in the hour-long ceremony so I’m pretty proud of myself.

Of course we took the requisite post-ceremony photos. I’m so proud of Mike!! A lot of work went into that piece of paper. Blood, sweat and tears…for real.
