They got the popcorn off of the ceilings – that was the first thing they needed to do – and now they’re starting to figure out the configuration of everything (really it’s just the kitchen, we’re not knocking down any other walls) and putting in the floors.
It feels like it’s going so fast but our contractor told us that’s how it would feel – the demo stage is obviously such a big change that it feels so quick. We’ve decided on our floor type (we’re going with regular, not hand-scraped) and will be checking out stain samples I think next week. We’re already working on things like the material and paint color of the wood ceiling in the living room, and we’re meeting with the kitchen cabinet guy tomorrow. We’ve pretty much figured out all of the kitchen appliances we want and are finalizing what materials we want in the bathrooms. I thought I knew what I wanted, but having to commit sure makes you second guess yourself! Kind of like picking a baby name.
