There have been little things here and there that have had workers still coming in and out of our house this past week, but I think we’re aaaaaalmost done. Of course we need a bunch of furniture and things (except for rugs – we’re weirdly oversaturated in the rug department), but it feels good to be in.
We’ve been incredibly lucky to have our parents around to help with baby watching, blind installing, unpacking, and errand running. In fact, we had both mothers hard at work on Mother’s Day. Anarchists, I tell you.
Louise is adjusting as well as can be expected. She also moved into the 2-3 year room at day care so she’s had a lot of change recently. I’m proud of her for how well she’s handling everything. She loves all of her toys anew now that we have slick floors to run the Cozy Coupe or shopping cart, and the concept of a backyard is just amazing for her. We’ve had multiple basketball practices, bubble parties, and general romping in the grass. It also doesn’t hurt that there’s the park 100 yards away!
Nietzsche is also adjusting as well as can be expected. We locked him in the guest bathroom for a day and then slowly have been introducing him to the house. He spends the nights we don’t lock him in the laundry room roaming the rooms, meowing.
