Actual Christmas

It was such a fun holiday spent in New Orleans!

We flew in Tuesday evening. It was one of the most turbulent flights I’ve been on, so of course I was super stressed out. Celine slept through the whole thing and Louise thought it was fun, so at least they weren’t upset. They lost our car seat for the third time in as many trips, which made me even more frazzled. I may have yelled at the baggage claim lady “you need to be nicer!” Ugh…a low point. Luckily we had plans to go to dinner at Arnaud’s for Dominique’s thirtieth birthday, so after a Manhattan and a glass of champagne, I had calmed down.

The first thing we did the next morning was get beignets at Morning Call in City Park!

Mike’s dad bought a bike with a seat in the back, so we went to get Louise a helmet. She LOVED her helmet!

She went on a few bike rides with Grumps and dad, and loved it.

Then, just like that, it was Christmas! We went to Baton Rouge for Christmas Eve…Louise got to play with her second cousin Rylan. Christmas morning rolled around and we opened presents around noon. Louise is getting the hang of it!

The rest of the day we just hung out. It was good!

The next day we played around the house for a bit.

Then we went to Magazine Street for lunch at Ignatius with the whole family. Louise is an epic pouter:IMG_8502 IMG_8511 IMG_8459 IMG_8458 IMG_8500

That afternoon, Louise suddenly decided she wanted to wear her Minnie Mouse panties…and ONLY her panties, no skirt. Good timing, considering Mike’s friends and parents were on their way over! Oh well…#toddlerlife.

Mike’s friends Ben, Blaine, and Charlie came by with their parents. It was a really nice time catching up with Mike’s friends.

The next day we spent packing – we had to bring two extra bags home to hold all of our Christmas presents – and headed to the airport.

The line to check bags was the longest we’ve ever seen it, but we sort of accidentally skipped it by going in the preferred line. We were willing to buy an upgrade to skip the line, but they never asked us…so we just never pressed the issue.

Louise had two bags of fruit snacks and was incredibly hyper in the airport, but as soon as we got in the air she passed out. Sleepy ladies!
