Spring weekend

It was a gorgeous weekend and Mike and I wanted to take full advantage! Saturday morning we got up, ate breakfast, and headed out to the Arboretum. Our membership includes the Children’s Garden which is where we spent the majority of our time. Louise had a blast!

We ate lunch and then went home for naps (all of us). Louise and I had a good run around the neighborhood, and then we had a nice dinner and went to bed. Not before some music listening in our new hat.

The next day we maxed out our PRINCESS-NESS. Louise wanted to wear her crown, necklace, and bracelet, so that’s what we did. I told her we had a princess dress as well (a vintage dress Grammy gave us), so we floated around for a while outside in all our glory.

Then we played in our sandbox.

Mike went to work out while we hung around the house, and then we were planning on going to our neighborhood Easter egg hunt. However we couldn’t get out of the house on time so we walked up just as everyone was leaving. We asked about the Easter bunny since I had been prepping Louise for days, and so the host got back in his gear for us. However once Louise saw him she did not want to even get near him, and Celine started sobbing. So…oops.

Louise fell head over heels on our walk back – she was running and didn’t see two steps in the sidewalk – and I had a moment of mom panic. I was right behind her but couldn’t save her, and I was nervous she had a serious accident. Luckily she barely scraped her forehead and knee. Kind of shocking how little she was impacted to be honest!

We hung out for a bit while Mike made some mashed potatoes. I taught Louise to curtsy…I must not be a very good teacher. đŸ˜›

Then it was time for dinner at the McDonough’s! We started having family dinners about once a month a little bit ago, and they’ve turned into such a fun time. Our brood of friends keeps growing as well with the addition of more kids, and Michele’s backyard is basically a funhouse, so Louise had a great time. So did we!
